Grandparent's Day 2019
Grandparent’s Day 2019: Sowing the Seeds of Love
Grandparents play an integral role in children’s lives, offering support and love unconditionally. It is for this reason that they deserve a day of celebration.
Grandparents were invited to a mass in St. Mary’s Church, where our pupils read, played and sang beautifully. Following mass, an invitation was extended to all present in the church to visit the school for refreshments. A large gathering of parents and grandparents were entertained by the school’s fantastic musicians and they enjoyed a tour of the school and its facilities. Children were very excited to show off their school and classrooms to their grandparents.
They received a gift of seeds to symbolise ‘A grandparents love that is strong and deep, filled with memories to cherish and keep’.

Green School: Global Citizenship-Marine Environment
St. Teresa's N.S. is currently working on the Green Schools’ theme ‘Global Citizenship - Marine Environment’. We are in the second year of the two year programme and we hope to receive our green flag next Spring. All classes have completed and displayed projects and artwork based on this theme. We are working on reducing the amount of plastic we use and throw away in school and have done several clean ups so as to prevent marine litter reaching the marine environment.

SCIENCE WEEK 2018 :)
Science Week 2018… Another Successful Science Filled Week J
The children went above and beyond this year with their amazing homemade science-based costumes for our Annual Science Dress-Up Day!!!
When it came to investigating and exploring what science is all about the children surpassed themselves with their own research and experiments. Many children brought in their own materials and became Junior Scientists for the week. This really is what Science Week is all about.. the teachers love when the children get so involved in what we are doing during these fun themed based weeks.
I want to say a HUGE THANK YOU to all the children and their families who helped make this week such a huge success!!!
AND REMEMBER…. Science experiments are not just for Science Week. We encourage the children to keep exploring and to bring in experiments of their own throughout the year too J
Many thanks,
Ms. Walsh
