Knitting In A Winter Wonderland...

Knitting In A Winter Wonderland...

Mrs. Kearney's 5th & 6th class were busy developing their knitting skills during the year. Under the helpful guidance of Mary Brassil, the children followed a pattern and worked hard to create The Snow Family. Included in the family was Santa Claus, a penguin pulling a sledge, a Daddy, Mammy & Baby Snowman,Christmas trees and Yule logs. The pupils thoroughly enjoyed the project and it's fantastic to see the tradition of knitting being taught in the school. Nollaig Shona daoibh go léir!

Kingdom County Fair Knitting Competition May 2014

Kingdom County Fair Knitting Competition May 2014

Mrs. Kearney's 5th and 6th class pupils were the overall winners in the knitting competition during The Kingdom County Fair. They chose the theme 'The Teddy Bear’s Picnic.’ They incorporated spool and finger knitting techniques as well as needle work to design a maypole, food items, teddy bears and much more to complete their fantastic display. We’d like to say a huge thank you to Mrs. Brassil for guiding and helping us throughout the project. Have a look at our work below! We’re very proud of it.

Science Week 2015: Design Your Future

Congratulations to all the children in St. Teresa’s National School for making a huge effort this Science Week. The poster competition ‘Design Your Future’ and Science Hats proved that there may be a few potential scientists and inventors in our midst.

Great fun was had by all :)
